Hi Everyone!
This year I took a position with the Seattle School District to teach Construction Trades to high school students.
It's been a wonderful month leading up to classes and I am now in my second week with the students. They have been learning a lot about safety and tools. This week they have been learning to frame and I can see how excited they are to be creating.
The reason I am asking for help is because my material budget is quite low this year and while it would be okay in a normal year, this particular program has been a revolving door of instructors that have not planned their material procurement well at all. Due to that lack, it unfortunately hurts the students who want to become builders.
So I am asking for some financial help so I can get framing lumber, building wrap, roofing, siding, fasteners.... etc. etc.
I have already had some help from the amazing folks at Stewart Lumber (my homies!) with some safety supplies for the students. They have materials they can hook me up with at a great rate.
My hope is to pick up some materials that can set me up for success for the long term and gives me to the opportunity to teach the students with real materials!
It would mean a lot if folks could lend me a hand so I am equipped to make this program a star in the public school system!
Thank you everyone, it means a lot to have the help.
Your bud,
John McCoy
