Support John: Save the Bendix Diner Legacy
Donation protected
A staple of North Jersey, the Bendix has stood the test of time thanks to the resilience of her owner, John, but has fallen on tough times. This page is here to help John bring the Bendix back up to code by replacing the aging fire suppression system as well as building up and strengthening the building to support the work.
I grew up in this diner, as did many of those before me. My family and I may not live in Wood-Ridge anymore, but it is a yearly tradition to see John, get a plate of disco fries, and enjoy a fantastic meal. The Bendix is an icon of the area, and I’ll do whatever I can to let future generations experience John and the Bendix for as long as I can.
All funding raised will be going to John and the Bendix in order to update and replace the fire suppression system, as well as any structural updates needed to support the new system.
Update 1/15/25
Thank you all for your support so far! John has mentioned that the initial quotes are claiming anywhere between $100,000 and $125,000 so our goal may seem high, but that is also to cover for any unseen costs, lost revenue, and of course the $40,000 of tax and rent.
