Many of you know my Dad, John Tweedy. He has been a hardworking, persevering and honorable member of the Awendaw/McClellanville community for over 20 years. He takes pride in his family and his work.
My Dad would never ask for help, but I will ask for him.
If you have passed his metal shop off highway 17 recently, you may have noticed it’s boarded up.
On September 4th, 2024 the building was struck by a car traveling at high speeds and the building sustained a terrible amount of damage. Unfortunately my Dad lost a lot of important things vital to the survival of his metal business during the accident. He lost metal manufacturing machines, an entire pallet of ready to use metal and his building is currently not operational due to the structural damage.
Additionally, there were several existing orders that were complete and awaiting pick up which will now have to be rebuilt out of pocket and he cannot recoup this money while his business is not operational due to the structural integrity of the building.
Creekside metal is my Dads only supply of income for basic living expenses like electric, gas, food, etc. He is the sole provider for my step mom and two younger sisters, with Christmas quickly approaching.
Unfortunately due to certain circumstances revolving around this tragic accident, the auto insurance for the responsible party could take more than 6 months to pay out, and that’s if it even happens then.
MY DADS BUSINESS AND HIS LIVELIHOOD WILL NOT SURVIVE 6 MONTHS OF NO INCOME.
I’ve made this go fund me to share with this community so maybe donations from people who know him can help keep him afloat during this current time. With enough help, my Dad could fix his shop and get back to work which is all he wants.
Please share and if you can, donate! Thank you so much for reading.
