It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of John Michael Lucero, who left us to join our heavenly father on October 26, 2024, at the age of 68, in Boise, Idaho. John passed away from a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
John was born on November 1, 1955, in Ontario, Oregon. He spent most of his adult life raising his five children in Kent, Washington. John worked in multiple positions for Stoneway Concrete for over 30 years.
John enjoyed a fulfilling career before retiring, which allowed him to devote more time to his greatest passion: his grandchildren Colton, Kayla, Makenzie, Maddison, Sierra, Savannah, Steven, Scarlett, and Channing. He found immense joy in being involved in their lives and was a loving father and grandfather. John loved being present, attending their events, and spending time with them.
John touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness and warmth. John was known for his sense of humor. John was a pillar and a source of strength to his family and friends. John’s stories and laughter will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved family, including his children Leslie, Jenny, John, Steven, and his “baby girl” Lynnsie, who will carry on his legacy of love and compassion.
A celebration of life will be held in Idaho, but the time and date are yet to be determined. Afterward, John’s final road trip will take place for him to be laid to rest in Kent, Washington, at Hillcrest Burial Park, near his parent's resting place. In place of flowers, the family requests donations; all proceeds will be used for cremation and burial expenses.
John’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
