Support for the Nein Family

A year ago (one month after their miracle daughter Salem was born), John and Darcie suffered a huge shock. John was diagnosed with mild heart failure. Being a nurse, John followed all instructions to the letter and entirely changed his way of life. However, a week ago on June 26th John was admitted to Rush downtown with a completely failing heart. He was put on an emergency balloon pump and evaluated to have an LVAD put in as a stop gap measure until he is listed on the heart transplant list.

John & Darcie are so very grateful to God that they have this opportunity to keep John healthy as he waits for a heart. Unfortunately he will not be able to work and also will not be able to help care for Say Say. Darcie will be the primary care taker and is learning how to change sterile dressings and care for John in general. She is a good student, if not a little bit of a brown noser.

Going forward there is a need for financial support for the family. Medical bills, supplies/equipment in addition to daycare costs, food, and basics. The recovery time for an LVAD is 6-9 months and they will need all the help they can get. If you have it in your heart to donate please do so here. The Neins will never ever forget your generosity.
