“This past Sunday the whole world stopped. I came downstairs and found Eloise trying to wake up her daddy, but he wasn’t moving. I started compressions and dialed 911 - they came quickly, got a pulse back, and brought him to the hospital. We have no answers for why he collapsed - his heart, lungs, and body are in perfect condition. He works out everyday, doesn’t drink or smoke, and has no prior medical conditions. Because he was without oxygen while down, he is now fighting an anoxic brain injury. He’s on a vent but showing respiratory drive. We’re giving medication to reduce the swelling on his brain and sedate him while trying to keep him cool and his blood pressure regulated. We’re doing all the things - and the tests show that he is still in there. He is fighting, we are fighting, and we are remaining hopeful.

To know Jon-Michael is to love him - it only takes meeting him once to know how special he is. His humor and outlook on life are uniquely his - he makes our world go round. He is the hardest worker and absolute best father to our Eloise and Oliver - he is my best friend, my soulmate, my person.
