Support Jonnie's Fight Against Homelessness

Hello! My name is Jonnie and I'm raising funds to help with catching up on rent and utilities to avoid impending eviction Wednesday 12/18/24.

My Story:

At the beginning of 2020 I went through a divorce after almost 10 years with my partner. Then COVID-19 started just when that all finalized. Eventually I was laid off, and trying to hold different jobs since has been difficult, due to my overwhelming depression and anxiety. I went from what I knew as my life, to feeling like everything was being ripped from me. I felt alone and worthless. I eventually came back home to the Chicago area and am still trying to feel like myself again...

I am on the mend, as best as I can, but it's still difficult. Last night I almost attempted suicide, and I was almost convinced it was the best answer. Luckily a friend of mine called the Police for a wellness check and I was taken to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

I was on temporary disability prior to this and was unable to work while doing an outpatient therapy program that lasted most of each weekday. As a result I have been unable to make rent payments and I am now facing eviction this Saturday 5/18/24.

Please help out in anyway you can to keep us from being homeless.

Hiya!

First of all, I want to take a moment to Thank every one that had previously donated. It means so much to me that so many were willing to assist with this at that time. Thank you for helping keep us in our home!

I wanted to provide an update of what's been going on. Recently, due to extreme circumstances I am no longer working for the same employer. I am actively searching for new employment, along with a few job agencies assisting me as well. While I'm attempting to find another job my expenses are taking a hit, along with rent. I received an 30 day eviction notice, and am worried about how the next month will play out. I have reached out to community resources but am still awaiting any updates on if they are able to help.

At this time I'm reaching out to any resources that might be able to provide any assistance regarding the balance due for rent to avoid eviction. If you know anyone willing to contribute please share with them.

We are asking for any assistance again to help keep us in our home, please.
