Support Joseph Blake's Eagle Scout Project
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Joseph Blake and I am a 7th grader at The Fenn School in Concord, MA. I am also a Life Scout working on my Eagle rank.
In order to get to this point I have taken a mix of in person and online courses to complete 21 Merit Badges. Certain Merit Badges were more difficult to earn than others including camping a total of 20 nights, some of which were in well below freezing temperatures. I gained a deeper knowledge on first aid, learned more ways to keep a sustainable lifestyle, improved my public speaking, and learned better money management skills.
On top of earning 21 Merit Badges I have also held many leadership positions in my troop including Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL). I was recently nominated to be part of an OA training in June where I will join a few other members of my Troop in completing a more exclusive leadership training.
When I joined Troop 103 I set many goals to achieve and I am thrilled to be working on my last goal now, earning my Eagle rank at age 13.
Another big part of being able to achieve Eagle rank and one of my personal favorites is volunteering and giving back to the community. I have done many hours of volunteer services throughout my scouting career and some of my favorite organizations to give back to have been Heading Home, NEADS, PHP, and Gaining Ground.
My reason for creating this page is to give back to a community that has given me so many opportunities to reach out of my comfort zone and become the person I am today. This is why I have chosen The Fenn School to be the recipient of my Eagle Service Project. In order to complete my Eagle rank I had to choose a community to give back to and I can't think of a better place than Fenn. I am raising money to build and install 5 Eastern Blue Bird birdhouses throughout the school's campus. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
