It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Abuelito, Jose Trinidad Uribe Correa, on September 3, 2024. He leaves behind his loving wife, our Abuelita, as well as their children, grandchildren, and his cherished great-granddaughter. Our family is devastated by this loss, as we were not prepared for such a sudden tragedy.

Our Abuelito had recently been diagnosed with cancer but was given hope for a longer future with treatment. However, on the morning of September 1, Abuelitas birthday, he suffered a bleeding stroke, and God, in His wisdom, chose to take him before he endured further suffering. True to his character, even in those final moments, Abuelito remained the warm and joyful person we all knew and loved—bringing laughter to our hearts, never complaining, and staying his usual self.

He touched the lives of everyone around him, and we saw this clearly when more than 80 visitors came to see him in the hospital, a record according to hospital staff. Abuelito was truly one of a kind, and his impact on our family and community is immeasurable.

As we navigate this difficult time, we would love to fulfill his final wish: to be laid to rest in Mexico, where he can join his parents. We are raising funds to assist with funeral and memorial expenses, travel costs, and to provide support for our family as we take time off to grieve.
