Support Josh Dennison's Heart Surgery Journey

Donation protected
Welcome to the Go Fund Me for Joshua Dennison & His two beautiful children, my name is Sue DeCesare

We have started this page to help support Josh as he faces the journey that lies ahead. Many of you know Josh or have had interactions with him or his children over the years. Josh is a hard-working single dad to Behr 11 & Dakota 8. Josh is the type of person who would always try to put others first. Someone who will answer the phone and help in any way he possibly could. Josh enjoys anything that has to do with the outdoors or his kids. He loves to laugh and make others laugh with him.

Unfortunately, what he is going through is no laughing matter. Josh was born with congenital heart disease and has undergone 4 Open Heart surgeries in his 39-year life. His last actual open heart was in 1996 at Maine Medical Center. Since then, he has had multiple stents placed in the Cath lab and even received a Melody valve in 2014. This had given him lots of longevity out of his valve. In February 2023 Josh went to the Cath lab to measure the pressures and see how his heart function was doing. The findings confirmed that he would need a 5th open heart or possibly a full Heart Transplant. Heart Transplant was something Josh never thought he would even have to consider. After talking with his doctors in Maine, his case was referred to the teams at Boston Children’s Hospital along with Brigham and Women's hospital.

On April 1st Josh was unexpectedly let go from his new job and has been out of work since. His condition continues to slowly deteriorate. He is being scheduled for an attempted 5th open heart valve replacement & chest wall reconstruction sometime near the end of this month. He will also be put through the necessary process to obtain the information needed for him to get on a heart transplant list if needed. Obviously, this all comes with great uncertainty, risk and challenges that lie ahead.

To say that the last year and a half has been unbelievably stressful on Josh is an understatement. Given the divorce of his wife, the unexplained job loss, and now the lingering heart procedure. Yet talking to him you would never know all of this is going on as he continues to try and be the best parent to his two children and get through each day with a positive attitude.

If you know Josh, you know he is very stubborn and humble, and the last one to ask for help. He has never been someone who considers his heart condition as a disability. We kindly ask for your support as he faces what could be a long journey ahead. The money raised will be used to help pay his mortgage, bills, and any other expenses that come along the way. Josh himself will never ask for this help so we are doing it for him we thank you for anything you can provide and ask you to keep Behr, Dakota, & Josh in your prayers.

Thank You,
Sue
