Help Josh Recover from Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Kaylen Friederich- long time family friend of Josh McCrarey. I am starting this fundraised on behalf of Josh, who was in a severe motorcycle accident earlier this month.
On Thursday, July 7th, Josh was struck by a semi truck while he was riding his motorcycle from Wichita, Kansas to Waverly, Kansas. As Josh was slowing down in a construction zone, the truck driver behind him didn't see him and failed to slow down. As a result, Josh was hit and drug under the semi. Authorities arrived on the scene where he was fully conscious, but needed to be air lifted to the nearest hospital where he immediately went into an emergency surgery. By a huge divine miracle, Josh is alive and we are all so incredibly thankful!
The accident left him with a broken femur, broken ribs, a broken arm and a few cracked vertebraes. Recovery has been hard- but he is making a lot of progress. Josh is currently undergoing in-home rehabilitation and is in the process of acquiring the tools and equipment he needs to regain his strength and function. His current recovery rate is looking to be around 4-6 months.
Our mutual friends, Hayden and Robin said this yesterday:
Thank you all for supporting Josh. He will need it further in the days to come. Here’s some ideas for how you can continue in his time of need:
1. Keep encouraging him. Josh’s love language is words of affirmation and he’s been fighting discouragement.
2. Continue praying for his healing (emotional and physical) wisdom, and heaven ordained interactions. Josh has had some amazing staff at the hospital and even had the opportunity to pray with his nurse, whose boyfriend was in a coma from a motorcycle accident a couple weeks before Josh’s.
3. Help Josh with some finances if possible. We are able to meet Josh’s immediate needs while in Wichita, but having a little money would alleviate many of his worries, allow healthier options, and help him regain his sense of independence.
..
Before the accident, Josh was a few weeks away from moving to the Dominican Republic to pursue a ministry opportunity. Now, being in-between work and recovery, he will need all the support he can get. Thank you all for your prayers, support and love for Josh during this tumultuous time. Let's bless him through this hard, confusing season!
