Support Joshua Encarnacion’s Memorial Sports Complex

UPDATE - 2/1/2025

We recently proposed to the Wantagh School District changes to our original proposal. The Memorial Sports Court will now include a Multi-Sport TURF Field. This multi-sport turf field will be a regulation sized U11 soccer and lacrosse field, that can be used for youth lacrosse, youth soccer and youth football purposes. This proposal has been APPROVED by the Wantagh School District. We plan to start building the field in the Summer of 2025. Our next Fundraiser will be held at Mulcahy's of Wantagh, during April 2025. Specific details will be provided soon.

Please help the Encarnacion Family and Wantagh Community fundraise for the “JOSHUA ENCARNACION MEMORIAL SPORTS COURT & MULTI SPORT TURF FIELD” This multi-sport basketball court and multi-sport turf field will be a great addition to the Wantagh community and a great way for the community to remember Josh.

It’s been over 1 year now, since 11-year-old Joshua Encarnacion sadly lost his battle with a rare form of childhood cancer. The Encarnacion Family sadly lost their son and the Wantagh community lost a special young boy. Joshua was such a special and talented kid, he meant so much to everyone who met him.

11-year-old kids are supposed to go to middle school with their friends, graduate high school and live their life. So, when this doesn’t happen families and communities are devastated and come together to help remember that child. And that’s what this GoFundMe is about. It’s about remembering Joshua. It’s about giving his friends, family and community a place to remember him.

Josh was a phenomenal athlete, excelling in many sports like wrestling, basketball, lacrosse, soccer and flag football. His family felt that building an Outdoor Multi Sport - Basketball Court & Multi-Sport TURF Field would be a great way to remember Joshua. The Memorial Sports Complex is planned to have 2 courts and 1 - U11 regulation sized Turf Field. The basketball courts will be designed with a unique sports court flooring system that will allow for other sports like floor/deck hockey. We hope that this sports complex empowers other kids to play sports with the same fearless mindset as Joshua. Even through sickness, Joshua put others before himself. That was the teammate and friend he always was and will always be remembered as.

The project is being supported by Wantagh school district leaders, The Mandalay/Wantagh PTA, the Encarnacion Family & “The Joshua Encarnacion Memorial Court Committee,” a group of Wantagh family volunteers & Wantagh PTA members working to complete this project.

All donations will be going to the "Joshua Paul Kekoa Encarnacion Memorial Complex Fund. Inc.," which has been filed as 501c3 non-profit fund. These donations will be used to build Joshua’s Memorial Sports Complex.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE who came out to our June 26th for our first fundraiser at Brokerage Comedy Club. This was a huge success as we wound up selling out the venue!!!
