Welcome to my fundraising page!
My name is Joshua Johns and I am a British athlete competing on the UNIQLO ITF Wheelchair Tennis Tour. I am raising funds to cover my training and international tournament expenses.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and supporting my journey by donating and/or sharing this page.
About me
Born in July 2005, I was diagnosed with Right Sided Hemiplegia (Cerebral Palsy) at the age of 3. My parents were determined that this would not hold me back and got me involved in various sports from the age of 5, eventually finding Wheelchair Tennis in 2016 and I have never looked back.
Fast forward to now, and I can look back on a very successful junior career.

I have now aged out of the Junior ranks, and can fully concentrate on the Men's tour.
My short term goal is to be in the worlds top 50 men in 2024, then work towards making top 15 by 2026 which will gain me entry to the Men’s Grand Slams. Then look ahead to Paralympics in LA 2028.
The challenge!!
Whilst I was a junior the vast majority of my training and international competition expenses were funded by the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association).
I am incredibly proud of my young career, it is full of memories and experiences that I will never forget. But recently, I received the news that I did not get selected to move onto the adult LTA performance programme. It has taken some time to process, and I guess I still am dealing with this unexpected and devastating news. Whilst I struggle to accept the reasons given, I am not writing this to spite the LTA as I remain extremely grateful for the support they have given me up to this date.
So now it's time to recharge and formulate a plan to keep going, with vastly reduced funding and support. I am determined to continue and fight to make a career in this sport I have dedicated my life to over the last 7 years. I owe it to myself and to all the amazing people that have supported my journey up till now, be it professionally, emotionally, or financially.
Myself and my family are exploring every opportunity to raise the funds required to give myself the best chance to reach my full potential, and I hope that if you are reading this, you can help support me in this effort.

Thank you!!
Thank you again for taking the time to read my story, and please know any support given however large or small will play a huge part in helping me reach my goals, and I will be incredibly grateful.
