Support Joy McNally's Stroke Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On Monday, October 14th, our family member Joy McNally, who resides in Mesa, AZ, suffered a series of strokes while on a once in a lifetime vacation in Hawaii that left her totally unresponsive with right sided body paralysis, as well as an inability to speak or verbalize, and an inability to swallow food on her own at this time.
After spending 13 days in the ICU in the local Maui hospital, Joy began to deteriorate further, and her doctors recommended that her best chance for recovery was to be immediately transported via “medical emergency air ambulance” back home to Arizona to a proper stroke facility. Upon request for the air ambulance, her insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, stalled for days, then denied approval for that air transfer, all while Joy continued to deteriorate.
In a race against time, Chris and our family borrowed 82k for an Angel Med flight to Barrow Neurological facility, a prestigious stroke care hospital located in Phoenix where Joy is currently admitted for the foreseeable future.
Joy and Chris have a long, difficult road to recovery ahead of them and are asking for the help of friends and family to support them with their medical expenses. They have already incurred $120,000 in medical bills. Every donation, large or small, will make a meaningful impact.
Chris appreciates all the concern and prayer but is asking for privacy at this time.
We are all very grateful for the love, prayers and support. Thank you for standing by Joy & Chris.
