Support Juliana's Opera training in London

Hi, I am Juliana Cook. In September I will commence my Master's of Music in Opera at the Royal Academy of Music in London England. I am seeking financial support to help me achieve this goal.

 

I have been singing since I was a young child. At 15, I sang in my first high school musical, and this experience inspired my passion for classical and operatic singing. During high school, I benefited from musical training from excellent teachers in my hometown.

 

At 18, I was awarded the title of first place in classical voice at the Performing Arts BC competition. With the advice of my voice teacher, I attended the 2017 University of British Columbia (UBC) Summer Vocal Workshop.

 

While attending this workshop I was immediately recruited to come to UBC to further my studies. In September, I began my Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance.

 

In my four years at UBC, my growth as an artist was profound. I was fortunate to train with J. Patrick Raftery as my vocal professor, developing a wonderful teacher/student connection. I had many performance opportunities in both operas, masterclasses and coachings, singing for Sondra Radvanovsky, Ben Heppner and Judith Forst.

 

My time at UBC encouraged me to seek out new learning opportunities. I am proud to have been accepted to pursue my Master's Degree in Voice at the Royal Academy of Music.

 

The Academy has granted me substantial tuition scholarship funds. As an international student in the UK, I will also need financial assistance to cover my living expenses while at the Academy. My student visa will allow me to work a certain amount to fund my further education. Any support that you are able to offer would be greatly appreciated.
