Support Julie Smith after Christmas fire
Donation protected
On Christmas Day, the unthinkable happened to our unfailingly kind, beautiful, generous friend. She smelled smoke, heard a rumble, and in an instant, her life changed. Julie and her two sons lost their home in a catastrophic fire.
Thankfully all escaped without injury. Julie left safely, the family cats were rescued by Baden volunteer firefighters, and the boys weren’t home at the time. But Julie left with just the clothes on her back. The majority of their lives’ possessions – car, clothes, furniture, electronics, pictures, – were left behind, damaged and destroyed by fire, smoke, and water.
It will take a year or more for Julie and her boys to get their house back. The house that Julie worked hard to transform into a warm, beautiful home for her family. In the coming months, they’ll take it down to the studs and begin the rebuild. The task ahead is colossal – from top to bottom, front to back, it’ll all be replaced and rebuilt.
Julie, our sweet friend, is facing a grueling year. We want to lighten the load and show Julie and her boys how loved they are. With no clothes, household items, car or home, their immediate and long-term costs will be considerable. Please consider donating whatever you can to help. Together, we can help them manage the burden of losing their home.
