Support Julie Wiggins-Miller's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Hello my name is Ashely Wiggins and I appreciate you taking the time to read this story about my mom, Julie Wiggins – Miller. As most of you are aware my mom had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor deposit in her colon on July 30th. While that surgery was very successful she has since been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer that has spread to lymph nodes, nerves and blood vessels. She will be having a port inserted into her chest on August 28th and she is starting aggressive chemotherapy treatment on September 11th which will last for 6 months.

She was blindsided by the doctors recommendation that she must close down her business, an in home daycare that she is celebrating 25 years of being in business this December. Due to the seriousness of her treatment being around children is not an option during this six month period.
Many of you know my mom as a wife to her husband Todd, who will be celebrating 25 years of marriage on August 28th, a mom and step mom to 5 children, a grandma to 5 with one on the way, a beloved daycare provider/ preschool teacher to countless families over the past 25 years, a great friend, sister, daughter and the strongest person you will ever meet.

With this devastating diagnosis, we know Julie is facing a challenging journey ahead and although her spirits are good and we know she will make it out stronger than ever, she was hoping to get back to her career as a daycare provider/teacher this week but now will now be unemployed for 6 months. She is devastated by this news and already is missing the children’s smiling faces coming through her front door every morning and all the families she has the pleasure of seeing daily.

We are reaching out to all of you, and anyone that you can share this to, who has a compassionate heart to join us in helping Julie and her husband during her time of need. Julie has had a successful business and to now be unemployed is scary for their future and we are trying to lesson the burden of her expenses so she can focus on healing. Your contribution will serve as a lifeline and a source of strength for her as she confronts the unpredictable nature of her treatment and the evolving needs that will arise. It will help pay for medical bills and living expenses until she is able to return to work. The hard truth is, as a business owner she has not paid into state disability therefore does not qualify for any help. Julie herself has been reaching out to many agencies, mortgage company, even companies who specialize in helping cancer patients and they use your income from the past year to calculate your approval, thus has resulted in being denied.
She is in a critical time of healing and adversity, and removing the burden of financial uncertainty is of utmost importance to all of us. Any amount you are able to contribute no matter the size will help tremendously!

Please consider sharing this with your network, whether it be friends, family, coworkers, social medias, or anyone who might be touched by Julie’s story. Together, we can make a significant impact and help ease the burden for Julie and Todd. Thank you!!
