Support Julie's Journey Through Hospice Care
Donation protected
On May 3, 2024 our mom, Julie, aka JuJu, brought herself to the ER. Tomorrow, June 27, 2024, she will be leaving the hospital to begin home hospice care. While in the hospital over those weeks, she received a diagnosis of Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma, Stage 4. Facing an opponent like the one she is up against, brought us to the reality that she had not been given a fair fight. The chemo has not been effective and surgery is not an option. After weighing out our options with her team of doctors, together as a family, with mom able to make the final decision that hospice will be the best choice. At this time, nothing can make her happier than spending time with friends and family (especially her grandkids).
As many of you probably know, our mom’s dream was to be able to take her 4 children and their spouses plus her 9 grandkids to Disney world. We had finally found dates for June 2025 that worked for everyone and had all begun to save while Juju began planning for our trip. Needless to say, this monster came into our lives and stole that dream.
We never thought that we would be put in this kind of situation, but who ever does. Now as bills and medicals costs start to add up for mom and dad, we’ve made the difficult decisions to ask for help. Anything would help, especially just prayers and kind words at this time, but as the medical bills are stacking up, we just want to make sure that mom is able to stay at home for the rest of her time with us. Our Juju was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years and now that it is her turn to be the patient, we want to do everything possible to ensure she receives the care that she deserves.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We appreciate all of the support to our family during this hard time. Sending love to you all!
Much Love,
