Support June's Journey to Health Recovery
Donation protected
We are creating this GoFundMe site to assist our son-in-law in his efforts to help June, our granddaughter, in her recovery.
The rest of this was written by June’s dad, Randy Batton.
Christmas break year 2023, our wonderful, loving, and caring daughter, June Batton, caught Covid-19. It was severe! She was in and out of the hospital multiple times during this time.
As time went on throughout the year of 2024, we started to notice June acting differently. She would stare out looking blank-eyed, not respond to anyone, and get lost, not knowing where she was. This ended up badly where June was hospitalized and knocking on death's door. She eventually had to be transported to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City in October 2024. She was there for around a month with every test you can do on a person. Eventually, June was diagnosed with catatonia and has been treated for that ever since then. Fast forward again to March 2025, we saw June declining again, and she was hospitalized again for about a month and a half. With the amazing help of Dr. Leslie Miller with Pearl Health in Idaho Falls, she ended up seeing June on a weekly basis and found concern that June had an underlying disease. This is such the case; June has a very rare gene that was affected by all the sickness, which very well could be causing all this.
With the help of Dr. Leslie Miller, we have been approved to see one of the top doctors, Dr. Gena Mooneyham, who specializes in Autoimmune Brain Disorders at the National Institutes of Health. This is a very rare program to get approved for, and with all the prayers and help from the doctors, June got accepted for this special medical visit and treatment!! June, Holly, and I will be flying out to Washington, DC, on May 4, 2025, to get this much-needed medical care and rare testing done that no other facility can do.
We come asking Family, Friends, and Community to help support June's journey to get the medical care she needs. Anything helps! Holly and I realized we can't do this alone. This cause and journey to help June get better is too big for us to do alone! This journey has financially put a big burden on our family. We come humbly asking for financial support.
