Support Justin for 2022 Mr. Jabberwock

Donation protected
My name is Justin Davis. I am the son of Don and Yuvonka (Shawnte') Davis, and I am competing in the 2022 Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant sponsored by the Kinston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. The program provides participants like me with various cultural, educational, service, and social activities and the opportunity to showcase our gifts and talents. In addition, we will celebrate our growth and development, and the program will provide us with the chance to win a scholarship with your support and assistance. I am competing for the title of Mr. Jabberwock. The theme this year is A Crimson and Cream Royal Affair.

My Background.

I am a Greene Central High School junior in Greene County and will graduate in 2023. I plan to attend college, and I enjoy graphic design, specifically content creation. A determining factor will be the cost of financing my education. I would appreciate your support in this competition to help me achieve my life goals.

Good leadership skills are essential. As a cadet in the Ram Battalion Army JROTC, I have grown in my leadership ability and civic engagement. I enjoy using my graphic design skills as a member of our yearbook team, and I am looking forward to publishing our school's yearbook. I enjoy speaking Spanish, and I am self-taught. Serving as a football athletic trainer, I value the importance of teamwork. I played tennis, football, and plan to run track. Working as an office assistant, I have learned incredible organizational skills. My hard work academically has paid off. I am proud to be a National Honor Society and Beta Club member. I enjoy music--playing the violin, trumpet, and piano. Also, I have often served as a DJ for the Carolina Junior Cotillions, where I was a marshal.

I attend St. James Presbyterian Church, where I serve as an usher. I have countless volunteer hours. Through this program and your support, I am sure I will succeed and help others in the community. I am a proud lifetime member of the NAACP.

What is a Jabberwock?

The Jabberwock is a pageant for raising funds for scholarships and public service programs that began as a unique activity over 90 years ago. Local chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. sponsor the Jabberwock, a nationally sanctioned sorority program. The word "Jabberwock," copyrighted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was taken from Lewis Carroll's tale, "Alice's Adventure in Wonderland." In the poem, "Jabberwocky," it was customary for creatures throughout the kingdom to gather annually to present a gala pageant.

Since the first pageant held in Boston, the Jabberwock has come to represent an evening of sophistication and entertainment that showcases young men and women while advancing the goals and objectives of Delta's scholarship program.

How can you specifically help me?

Donating to my GoFundMe campaign in any amount you can afford is much appreciated. Please help support me to be Mr. Jabberwock by making your contribution today. Every dollar counts, and you must submit any funds by Friday, April 1, 2022. Thank you for helping me to make my dreams come true.

The Jabberwock pageant is on April 23, 2022. It will be virtually. Again, thank you.
