Support Justin Through Cancer

Donation protected
One of Mr Racing's very own needs some support!

We are asking anyone who can help to throw something Justin's way, we are kicking it off by donating $8,000 to help our own.

A Little About Justin:

2 Beers Chi, got his nickname when it only took him 2 beers to get drunk and would fall asleep in the car back from the races, after watching Mr Racing's horses and it's stuck around ever since.

2 Beers first started a Mr Racing in mid-April, after moving up to the Gold Coast from Sydney, and he is an integral member of our family. He's usually the man behind the camera plus looking after all our media productions. 2 Beers also helps us out with data input and the behind-the-scenes work for our systems to help them run as smoothly as possible for our members.

In April 2020, 2 Beers would get frequent headaches when he worked as a cook at a local cafe. These headaches first started hardly mentionable but continued to get worse as the weeks progressed. Eventually reaching a stage where standing up would be unbearable, and would be sent home nearly every day. After seeing a couple of doctors, he was originally told that it could be a problem with his back. He was given some painkillers and saw a chiropractor, but none of it helped.

Eventually, Justin went to see a different doctor, who suggested an MRI be done on his spine. After the MRI, they saw something unusual at the top of his spine and got him to do an MRI of his brain. After the MRI was done, 2 Beers was asked to stay and got sent straight into the emergency room, where he stayed the night waiting for the neurologists to see him.

2 Beers was told that he had a big lump in his brain, roughly the size of a tennis ball, and that it was the cause of everything. They would eventually conclude that the lump was a Grade 2 Ependymoma (slow-growing brain tumor) and would have to be operated on ASAP.

After the operation, Justin was told that they were able to successfully remove 99.9% of the tumor, but the remaining 0.01% was embedded in his spinal cord, and they didn't want to run the risk of paralyzing him. It was recommended to leave it and monitor it to see if it grows or remains dormant. After 3 months of recovery, he would find himself back working as normal.

Around mid-2022, Justin started to have problems with his head again. With frequent headaches and nausea, on the rarer occasion, he would experience dizziness. After going back to the doctors they found that Justin's brain was leaking fluid which would start causing more pressure against his brain thus causing the symptoms.

After a second operation to stop the fluid from leaking into his brain, he's been back to work to finish his apprenticeship to be a chef.

After his yearly checkup, they found that the cancer in his spinal cord had grown just a smidgen and that radiation would be his best option. With cancer in his spinal cord, there is also the possibility that it has traveled throughout his body, and he will be undergoing whole-body MRI scans to determine the extent of it. Once that has been determined, he will go radiation accordingly.

Any help towards Justin's medical bills and living costs would be great appreciated by not only Justin's family but also the Mr Racing family as well.
