Make a meaningful impact for Kaia and her future. On March 16, 2021 Kaia was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of leukemia; Acute Undifferentiated Leukemia. Your donation helps ensure her parents; Diony and Eliza can put 100% of their energy into caring for Kaia and keeping her in bright spirits as she undergoes chemotherapy.

At 9 months old Kaia has already endured a multitude of tests and treatments that most adults would find difficult. Kaia will need a bone marrow transplant shortly which will require all of them to temporarily move to Seattle, Washington for continued care. Diony and Eliza need to stay at the hospital to care for her throughout her treatment. Due to this life-altering diagnosis for Kaia and her current medical needs, Diony and Eliza are unable to work. ALL your donations will go towards their medical expenses, living expenses updates to the home to ensure it is a safe environment for her to return to and any other unexpected expenses. Oregon currently does not offer paid FMLA therefore Diony and Eliza have had to deplete their savings to be able to stay afloat.
