Support Kaila's Wellness Journey

Kaila Shelton is an extroverted, creative, active 15 year old young lady who thrives when she is surrounded by family and friends.  The creative arts, both visual and performance, are her passions. 


This past fall her health dramatically changed for the worse. She has been unable to get up most days and stay involved in life activities. Some days she would sleep for more than 18 hours. When she was awake, she would need assistance with daily activities, such as brushing teeth, dressing, eating and bathing. After multiple visits with various medical practitioners over 5 months, she was finally diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome  (POTS syndrome).


This January her mother, Katie Caudle, found a Functional Neurologist in Huntersville, NC at Carolina Functional Neurology Center, who accurately diagnosed her with POTS and has prescribed various treatments and therapy, including neural rehabilitation and nutritional support. She will need to make multiple visits to Carolina Functional Neurology in order to receive these treatments and therapies. All of this care is not covered by insurance, and traditional medicine has been unable to fully diagnose or help Kaila. 


All the money raised will go to cover the costs of travel, treatment and therapies. Kaila will need to start treatment immediately and will be making her first visit on March 15th.
