Please Continue To Help Kari, Chris, and Kai

UPDATE - PLEASE READ So many have donated to help with medical bills and general financial help as Kari and Chris welcomed their baby boy Kai into the world with a hole in his heart and vocal chord paralysis, and I want to first say THANK YOU to everyone who was able to help. Unfortunately, I am back asking for additional support as this beautiful family and some of my favorite people in this world have been delivered more heart crushing news. Kari has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer and has started the long battle to fight for her life and her health. What was initially thought to be inflammation due to hormones related to pregnancy and pumping milk for Kai has turned out to be a tumor that has spread to her chest wall and requires aggressive treatment. As family and friends come together to offer time and meals and whatever support we can, the financial strain that this will take in addition to the medical care Kai already requires could truly use the generosity of everyone who can spare ANTYHING. No donation is too small. Please help keep this family afloat so they can focus on fighting this retched disease and continuing to provide the care their gorgeous boy Kai needs! -------------------------------------------------------- Hey there - My name is Kim Farrington, and I'm fundraising to help 3 people who mean the world to me - Kari, Chris, and Kai D'Amore - and if you know Kari and Chris I have no doubt they mean a ton to you as well. Kai, the littlest and newest D'Amore, arrived in this world with a hole in his heart and trouble catching his breath. His first month has been spent at CHOP in the NICU with Kari and Chris steadily by his side, hoping and praying for him to be able to breathe on his own without intubation. Unfortunately, he has not been able to. Last week, with the guidance of cardio and respiratory specialists, he had trach surgery to help him breathe without a tube in hopes that it will allow his vocal cords and throat to heal and gain strength so he can go home with his mama and do more baby things. And he will need additional surgery down the road when he's a bit bigger and even stronger than he is today to repair the hole in his heart. I have no idea how much the medical bills from CHOP will amount to, but I know Kari and Chris are spending as much time in Philly to be near Kai every moment they can. And in 6+ weeks when Kai can hopefully go home, more medical services and more time off of work to support his physical needs will be needed. Both Kari and Chris have wonderful employers who have been very supportive, but the unknown financial strain can be daunting and all their focus needs to be on getting Kai healthy and home. Please help support them by donating anything you can. God gave this little boy with a hole in his heart two of the best parents with the biggest hearts of their own to help nurture him whole.
