Support Kai's Wish: Family Trip to Brazil

If you know Tai or Sonji, you likely love them ❤️ We know we do here at Puddletown School.

Tai and Sonji ‘s family are recovering from an exceedingly difficult year. Nearly alongside the birth of their bouncing and joyful newborn, Juni, their eldest, Kailane, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. For the past 7 months, Kai’s undergone surgery, extensive chemo, as well as many trips to the ER and lengthy stays at the hospital from a range of awful and debilitating side effects as a result of her chemo. Tai, Sonji, Davi and Juni, along with their loving and devoted family, have been caring for her and rooting for her nonstop. Kailane’s just been given the wonderful news that she is currently cancer free and can return to high school, which she has missed so much.

Their family is overjoyed and so incredibly relieved. A new day has dawned and they are all hopeful and grateful.

They are also now recovering from the immense cost of care and limited ability to work during her recovery. Kai was granted a wish from the Make-a-Wish foundation and asked to travel with her family to Brazil, to spend the summer with Tai and Kai's family in their birthplace. They were told that this would be possible and it gave them something to look forward to throughout these difficult months. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago the organization changed their policy and no longer allow wishes to be used for extended international travel. This was very sad news and they are hoping to find another way to grant Kai's wish. Please contribute what you can to help Kai, Tai, Davi, Juni & Sonji relax and reunite with their loved ones this summer in Brazil.
