Support Kaitlin and Nathan with Ellie's Expenses

Donation protected
The Scott Family of Kaitlin, Nathan, Ellie, Cooper, and Winnie has grown slowly over 12 years.

While Kaitlin and Nathan love all of their dogs dearly, getting Ellie was a turning point in their story. They had been together for 8 years, and as any young woman can empathize, Kaitlin, and their eldest dog, Cooper, were starting to wonder if they would ever get married.

In September of 2019, Nathan surprised Kaitlin by agreeing to another addition to the family. This marked a turning point in their story, as getting another dog was a sign that he wanted to commit to a future together.

That dog was Ellie. She came into their lives just before they got engaged a week later. Ellie is symbolic of Kaitlin and Nathan’s commitment for each other, and as a result, they could not possibly love her more.

Ellie is and always has been a sweet and outgoing dog. She has taken many trips to work at the fire station with Nathan. She is also the official greeter of the Scott household. She will be turning four years old on July first!

Ellie is an athletic pup with a passion for chasing her siblings, harassing her auntie Alison, doting on her parents, and above all else, swimming.

This June, Ellie developed a limp that quickly worsened to the point where she needed to be carried by her concerned father, Nathan. Her parents took her to the vet to see what they could do to help her to run again. The vet said the bone in Ellie’s leg is disintegrating, and the only option for treatment is amputation.

The Scott family is also waiting on biopsy results to learn if this disintegration is due to an infection, or a rare kind of cancer called osteocarcinoma. They will receive news sometime in the last week of June. If she is diagnosed with cancer, then her parents plan to have Ellie undergo the expensive process of chemotherapy.

In addition to awaiting a diagnosis, the Scott family is also experiencing a career change. Nathan has decided to attend medic school to be a part of Medic One. This means that their income has decreased significantly.

Kaitlin and I have regularly discussed our eagerness to protect our pets by any means necessary. And I know that she and Nathan will spend whatever it costs to allow their little girl to run and swim with her siblings again.

I, as Ellie’s auntie Alison, feel called to help in any way I can, so I am asking for your financial support. Ellie is a very important member of our family and I can’t stand to see the Scott Family experience such grief and distress.

If any of you have the financial means to offer a donation to the family, it would mean the world to me.

Ellie is a strong little pup, and I know she will fight with all she has to stay with her family. Your donation would help Kaitlin and Nathan to hold onto Ellie, who is a symbol of their love and commitment to one another.

Any funds that surpass the medical bills for Ellie will be forwarded to local animal shelters as a show of our thanks to you and your generosity.

Alison P.

Update: She was diagnosed with cancer and she is scheduled to have her leg amputated tomorrow, followed by rounds of chemotherapy. We appreciate all and any support during this time.
