Support Little Jack after Tragic Car Crash
Donation protected
December 2nd started out completely normally for Chris, Kamie, and their two little kids. On that afternoon, after picking up their 6 year old daughter, Olivia, and 15 month old son, Jack, Kamie started heading home to their farm - that’s when the unthinkable happened.
At a county road intersection, a pick up truck, traveling at high speed and failing to yield to a stop sign, broadsided the driver’s side of the family’s vehicle, sending it flying onto its side and into the ditch.
The tragedy following has been difficult to grasp: sweet little Jack, having been on the driver’s side and directly in the line of impact has been in the ICU since that afternoon. The crash caused his skull to crack and brain to swell, affecting many other functions in his body. We are hearing good news, but the long-term effects for him are still unknown. He is still unable to successfully breathe on his own or move the left side of his body.
Kamie sustained major injuries as well, having a multitude of broken bones on the left side of her body. She will be undergoing months of therapy in order to regain the ability to walk.
Livy did suffer a fractured skull, but is currently home and in good health - we are so grateful for this.
Needless to say, the Pupols family will be under tremendous financial stress from this tragedy - a fact they are grappling with as they sit next to their 15 month old son daily in the ICU.
Bills are already coming in for the two separate helicopters to Marshfield Clinic for little Jack and Livy as well as the ambulance ride for Kamie.
All three have had ICU stays, ranging from two nights for Livy, to now almost two weeks (and counting) for little Jack; we still have no idea what this little guy’s future holds or what his healing path will be.
Kamie will be out of work for months to go through therapy; they will also need to renovate areas of their home to be disability accessible so Kamie can come home.
On behalf of Chris and Kamie, I ask that, if you have the ability, to please consider assisting them in this tragic and overwhelming time. Any gift, small or large, can help them to focus on the task at hand - their son and family - rather than the staggering bills that are already arriving in the mail.
Thank you all so much for your support and generosity. <3
