Support Kari’s Fight Against ALS
Donation protected
At just 38 years old, Kari has been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, impairing a person’s ability to move, speak, and eventually breathe. There is currently no cure for this fatal disease, and most people diagnosed with ALS live only 3-5 years after the onset of symptoms.
Kari is a loving wife to her husband, Jon, and mother to Cecili, their beautiful 3-year-old daughter. She is also a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and caring friend to many. Kari’s vibrant spirit shines through in everything she does. Whether it was in her career as a nurse that drew her to the operating room or her love for Taylor Swift, whose music has been a source of comfort and strength for her during this journey. Kari has always lived life to the fullest and worn her heart on her sleeve. Those lucky enough to be loved by her have been blessed by one of her handwritten notes in their birthday cards. We often joke that “Kari wrote us a book again,” but her heartfelt messages are always sure to make you smile, laugh, and sometimes even cry.
While this devastating diagnosis may be stealing her physical strength, it has not taken her spirit.
Kari is fiercely determined to reverse this disease, inspired by the stories of the 60 documented reversals over the past several decades. Her determination is driven by her desire to grow old with Jon, to be able to send their daughter off to school, be there alongside Cecili as she pursues her own passions, falls in love, gets married, and has a family of her own some day, as well as witness the milestones in the lives of everyone she loves. Kari truly believes that if there was a way to turn on this devastating disease, there must be a way to turn it off. She is fighting this disease with everything she has, combining both Western and functional medicine, along with other holistic treatments. Her unwavering hope and strength continue to inspire everyone around her.
As you can imagine, ALS brings profound physical, emotional, and financial challenges. The costs of medical treatments, specialized care, functional medicine, and holistic therapies are already overwhelming. In addition to these burdens, Kari’s nursing career has been cut short by the progression of her ALS symptoms, only a few short years after graduating nursing school with her BSN, due to the decreased functionality of her left hand. Our goal is to alleviate some of this financial strain, enabling Kari to focus on her fight while allowing her family to support her every step of the way.
We are asking for your support—whether through a donation or simply by sharing Kari’s story. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful impact as Kari continues to battle this disease with the same strength, courage, and hope she’s displayed since day one.
Please join us in supporting Kari on this journey. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With love and gratitude,
