Support Kate DeVilliers' Battle with Lymphoma

Donation protected
A few months ago, Kate DeVilliers noticed a persistent cough that lasted longer than she was comfortable with. After several rounds of antibiotics and a month-long medication regimen that proved ineffective, her doctor ordered a CT scan. Unfortunately, the scan revealed a mass between her heart and lungs, and after additional appointments, Kate was diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal B Cell Lymphoma.
Wednesday, Kate will begin an aggressive treatment plan. This involves five days of hospitalization followed by 16 days at home, a cycle that will repeat six times. Her doctors have included her in a clinical trial which would combine chemotherapy with immunotherapy should she be chosen to receive the extra medicine, essentially using the most aggressive approach available to work towards a cure rather than just managing the disease.

As Kate DeVilliers prepares for her aggressive treatment for Primary Mediastinal B Cell Lymphoma, she faces not only the physical and emotional challenges but also significant financial strain. A beloved teacher in the Minnetonka School District for over 20 years, Kate will likely need to use all of her sick and vacation time, and potentially long-term disability, as she undergoes treatment. With many unknowns still ahead, the financial burden of her care looms large.
Kate has always been a pillar in her community, whether she was teaching your child, cheering from the sidelines at hockey or dance events, or sharing in neighborhood moments. Now, she and her 3 girls face a difficult new reality, and they are deeply appreciative of the love and support pouring in as they navigate this journey.
