Support Katie and Jeff Through Dual Tragedies

Beloved friends Katie and Jeff’s brother, Evan Shapiro, passed away on January 11, 2025 – at the same time, their children’s elementary school was lost in the Eaton Canyon fire, and they are currently displaced from their home.

Their family is in immediate need of direct financial support as they manage these dual tragedies. Neither Katie nor Jeff can work right now as they care for their children and family.

I am Elana Mann, a friend who lives nearby to Katie and Jeff -- they are incredible people, artists, teachers and such generous members of our community. Evan has been ill with terminal cancer for many years, but it is a huge shock and strain on the family and dealing with the fire on top of everything has made this an incredibly challenging situation for them.
