Katie Harris has been diagnosed with Chiari Malformation in the summer of 2016. She is married to Chad Harris for 11 years and they have 5 beautiful children all by c-section. Her children's ages range from 2yrs old to 12yrs old. Of those children, one boy (9yrs old) has been diagnosed with autism and the 2 yr old has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and many other challenges. Katie has gone from being a very active mother to being "down" most days due to severe pain. She is a very loving, optimistic, God loving mother who is always ready to help, not only her family but others as well. Even through her bad days , she always thinks about helping/serving others. She is such an amazing person!
Katie has spinal decompression with fusion surgery coming up in February 2017 which can take up to a year for full recovery provided there are no complications. She will need a lot of financial, spiritual, emotional and physical support during that time. She is flying to Seattle, WA from Alabama to have the surgery. After surgery, she will stay with her mother in Maple Valley, WA to recover enough prior to returning to Prattville, AL. Her mother will be her primary caregiver at this time.
The money that will he raised on this page will directly help Katie's family to stay afloat during this time and recovery after surgery . Her husband Chad has been missing a lot of work in order to help her at home and take care of the children. Her mother Lynn, and the rest of her family are also doing the best they can to help Katie through this journey.
