Support Katie Mateja’s Surgery & Recovery Journey

Dear friends, family and kind-hearted individuals,

We are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea for support on behalf of our beloved Katie Mateja. Recently, Katie received a life-altering diagnosis: 3 brain aneurysms with one considered very large, located on her brainstem and a risk for rupture. This news has shaken her and her family to the core, as she now faces the need for a complex surgical procedure to treat these aneurysms.

Katie is a devoted wife, a loving mother to her 3yr old son, a dedicated Dental Hygienist and a National dancing representative at our club, Runcorn Park Physical Culture Club. With the immense risk involved and the lengthy rehabilitation process ahead, Katie must temporarily set aside her various roles and focus on her health. The upcoming operation and subsequent recovery will require time away in hospital, time away from her family and extended time away from her profession and her love of physical culture (physie). It is during these trying times that we, her Physie family, want to rally together and offer our unwavering support to Katie and her loved ones. Together we can help her prepare for the unknown and face the challenges that lie ahead.

We have created a Go Fund Me page to alleviate some of the financial stress and allow Katie and her family to focus on Katie’s recovery without the added worry of mounting expenses. Every dollar raised will go directly towards medical bills, specialised therapies, time off work and any unforeseen expenses that may arise during Katie’s recovery period.
