Support Katie's Freedom from a Hate-filled Family

Katie is 19 years old and is working two jobs to put herself through cosmetology school. On Sunday, June 7th, her family disowned her for posting a simple message in support of peaceful protests for Black Lives Matter. Her father gave her 24 hours to get a new cell phone carrier and five days to get her own car insurance because: "Obviously you have white guilt and issues of white privilege, so I'm going to do you the favor of lifting those burdens. ... Be a liberal fool and sheep, but don't think that we will support it financially. .... You've been a disgrace."
Our family and some close friends have taken care of getting her a new cell phone, which she needs for one of her jobs and which will help her establish a client base when she graduates cosmetology school in September.
We are looking for additional "disgraces" to help Katie get car insurance, as well as help with her last few months of school. She's found a friend she can move in with. Tuition, rent in a shared apartment, groceries and gas come to about $1,130 a month. We're guessing that car insurance will be $120 a month but we don't know that for sure yet. Katie's jobs as a waitress and an apprentice hairstylist aren't very secure in times like these. And, she had a third job, but that business is still closed due to COVID-19. She will not receive any financial support from her family after her car insurance with them ends this week.
We're hopeful some of you will be part of Katie's new family and help support her for a few months until she is fully able to support herself. Thanks for considering a gift of any amount to show Katie support for doing the right thing!
