Support Kati&Erik after Losing Their Home in Palisades Fire

Hi, my name is Mia and I am Kati Cattaneo's little sister. My heart is heavy to share the news that on January 7th, 2025, my sweet sister and her husband Erik Smith lost their home and everything they own in the Pacific Palisades fire.

On the morning of January 7th, my sister was at home recovering from her second round of IVF. She was awoken abruplty by phone calls from Erik to grab their cat and evacuate their home immediately. Half awake after being under anethsia just hours prior, my sister left her home for what would be the last time. Kati, Erik and their cat were able to safely evacuate their home, for which we are so grateful. Never in a million years did she or Erik think they would be leaving their home with only the clothes on their back and a few items of importance to never return. In 2022, Kati and Erik purchased their first home in the Pacific Palisades after many years of hard work and savings. They spent the next 18 months pouring their heart and soul into renovating this fixer-upper into their cozy little sanctuary. Living in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood was their dream come true.

Many friends, family members, clients and loved ones have asked Kati and Erik how they can help. With the financial burden of paying for two rounds of IVF out of pocket, and now losing every single thing they ever owned, I am asking on their behalf for support as they navigate this unimaginable nightmare. Although it is not in their nature to ask for help, this is an unprecedented time and any amount of support helps lessen the burden. Any amount, no matter how small, or simply sharing this link, will help them to slowly restore their lives.
