Freezing for a Cause – Polar Bears for Camp Ma-He-Tu!
Katrina Kornbrekke and Danielle Hillman have been best friends since 1992, when they met in the Juniors cabin during their very first summer at Camp Ma-He-Tu. Fast forward 32 years, and they’re still thick as thieves—Katrina gets an idea, and Danielle is right there to follow.
They say you’d walk through fire for a camp best friend… but these two are proving they’ll walk straight into the freezing Atlantic Ocean on New Year’s Day instead!
This year, Katrina and Danielle are taking on the Polar Bear Plunge, a time-honored Coney Island tradition, to start 2025 with a fresh, clean slate—and most importantly, to give back to the place that started it all: Camp Ma-He-Tu!
Both “polar bears” serve on the Camp Ma-He-Tu Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee, and their goal is to raise $1,000 to support the camp that shaped their lives. Any donation, big or small, makes a huge difference for camp and the future campers who’ll create their own lifelong friendships there.
Sponsor Katrina and Danielle as they brave the icy Atlantic in their bathing suits and K24 wool hats, all for the camp they love so much. Let’s kick off 2025 together—cold, bold, and full of camp spirit!
Donate today to keep Camp Ma-He-Tu going strong—thank you for your support!
