Support Katrina's Battle Against Brain Cancer

My name is Brad Randolph, owner of Boulder Karate.
At age 16, my little sister Katrina was diagnosed with brain cancer. She underwent surgery, chemo and radiation therapy, and through the grace of God, her cancer went into remission and she was able to resume living her life like a normal young woman.
Her positive attitude and perseverance has inspired me since the moment she was diagnosed. Soon after her surgery, we started our yearly Climbing For Cancer campaign at Boulder Karate, raising money for the American Cancer Society and climbing a Colorado 14er (mountain) each year to celebrate.
Katrina has since met and married her wonderful, loving husband Tyler Harrington, and together they've brought two babies into this world - Asher (4 years) and Holly (10 months).
A couple months ago, Katrina was having persistent headaches, and was misdiagnosed as having other illnesses. After several trips to the doctor, they finally went to the ER, did an MRI, and found another brain tumor.
Our family flew in for support as she went in for brain surgery... again. The surgery was a success, and a biopsy was sent to the lab to be identified. The original diagnosis was a glioblastoma, which is the deadliest and most aggressive form of brain cancer. Based on that, Katrina was told she has 12-18 months to live.
Tyler and Katrina wanted more professional opinions, so they saw a total of 4 doctors, one of which is the top neuro oncologist in the state. Two doctors identified the tumor as a glioblastoma, and the other two say it's a PXA (less aggressive tumor). It's unclear, but what we do know is she still has a long battle ahead of her.
Since her recent surgery, the tumor has started growing back. The doctors have put her on inhibitor treatment and will be keeping an eye on it with MRI's every few months. If it continues to grow, she will have to undergo chemo and radiation again.
Already Katrina and Tyler have had to stretch outside what their insurance covers to get proper medical treatment. As Katrina's brother, I want to help relieve some of the financial burden they feel so they can focus on what's important - her health and their family.
If our community can come together and provide even a little support to Katrina and Tyler, it would mean the world to me. Please consider making a donation to this very special Climbing For Cancer fundraiser. 100% will be given to Katrina and Tyler at the end of the event as a surprise. I can't wait to see the smile on their faces!
