Support the Smith family in the loss of their son, Reece

Hi. My name is Stacey. This fundraiser has been created for my daughter and son in law in hopes of lessening some of the stress within their lives. My daughter is currently 29 weeks pregnant and has received a difficult diagnosis regarding my grandson, Reece. Due to his diagnosis, Unilateral Renal Agenesis and Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney, she and Wade have had weekly doctor appointments with different specialists since the first week of March, some of which they have to travel outside of the city to attend. They both work full-time where they have done their best to meet required hours but still fall short due to the frequency of the appointments. Kayla and Wade both take care of their household and are parents to my 10-year-old grandson and 7 year-old granddaughter, Titan and Hattie! Donations would help them out greatly, not only by lessening the stress of the already incoming medical bills in addition to their mortgage and necessary groceries, but would also aid in preparing them for the coming weeks and months leading up to and following Reece's arrival. Not only are they attending weekly doctor visits locally, but they are also travelling out of state one to two times a week to receive serial amnioinfusion procedures in hopes of aiding in Reece's lung development. These procedures remove Kayla from work for additional time following for a physical rest period in order to minimize risk of complications.

Once Reece is born, it is expected he will rely on extensive medical care at CMC Main in Charlotte, NC, including a NICU stay for an unknown amount of time, lung support, dialysis, and other possibilities. It is hard to paint a clear picture of what the future will hold as no few outcomes are the same.

These last several months have exhausted Wade and Kayla emotionally, physically, and financially and they still have a long way to go.
