Support Kayla's Recovery from Burn Accident

Hi, I’m Kayla and I was recently caught in a grease fire. I was trying to cook dinner for my friends on Monday, June 17th. I was starting to prepare to fry the fish when the burner for the pot of grease caught on fire. Once I tried to move it, the pot caught on fire. My first thought was to smother it but the flour was by the sink on the other side of the kitchen. I picked the pot up and tried to put it in the sink and I slipped and fell in the kitchen with it still in my hand. When I let go of it, the pot slid by the couch causing it to ignite. Once I was able to get up, I found the fire extinguisher and put the couch out but I used the hand that I was burned with and didn’t realize the extent of damage on my hand.

Unfortunately, my burn doctor told me that I’m unable to work until further notice. I have two jobs. I’m also a college student and this is stressful not being able to pay my bills. I’m coming here to raise some money that would help pay for my appointments and bills until I’m able to work. I am temporarily disabled due to this accident and I am mentally drained.
