Support Kaylee's Healing and Recovery

Donation protected
On Saturday, February 8, 2020, my neice, Kaylee Ashton Morrill, was standing near a fire talking with friends when paint thinner was thrown into the fire by a bystander on the other side.  When the flame hit the paint thinner it caused a combustion and Kaylee's hoodie became engulfed in flames. It burned her entire face from below her chin to her hairline.  Her hands also were severely burned.  She was taken by ambulance to the nearest trauma center and was then airlifted to USA Medical Center burn unit in Mobile, Al for the intensive care and medical treatments she will need in the coming weeks and months.  Kaylee has 2nd degree burns on her entire face and 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her hands. She was placed on a ventilator immediately when she arrived at the trauma center.  Last night they were able to remove the tube and she has been breathing well and has even been able to talk today. Kaylee will undergo her first surgery Wednesday on her face. Kaylee does not have health insurance but she has a long recovery ahead of her and many wound care sessions both in the hospital and once she is out of the hospital.  Funds raised through this account will be used to offset expenses she and her immediate family will incur to stay near her during her recovery, for travel to and from her follow-up care and to help with medical expenses.
