Support Kaylie's Recovery and Family Needs
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Lindsey and Kaylie has been like a sister to me since the day we met in high school. On 2/4/25, Kaylie underwent a medical emergency that had her admitted to ICU at LGMC. The medical team there decided she needed more intensive care and transferred her to Oschner in New Orleans on 2/12/25. It was soon determined Kaylie was in liver failure, and on 2/23/25, she graciously received a new liver and had her spleen and gallbladder removed. She was on a ventilator for 72 hours.
Her rehab and follow-up care has and will be extensive, requiring Kaylie to remain in New Orleans for appointments, labs, and therapy until she is able to return home. She has been living in an apartment near the hospital since 3/7/25, and her husband and children, along with her mom, dad, and other family are driving 6 hours round trip to stay with her.
The medical bills alone will exceed a million dollars, but the greatest immediate burden has been the nearly two months and counting of hotel stays, gas, and food while being unable to work. This time has already been incredibly stressful from a life or death perspective, and now from a financial one. Simply put, they need our help! Any amount you are able to contribute will go directly to Kaylie and Andy to relieve some worry, so they can focus on getting Kaylie home with her babies where she belongs.
