Hi, my name is Petra. I am the wife of Keith. Back in June this year, my husband was in too much pain to walk, so he went to the ER. He was sent home with medication and informed that the vascular surgeon will set an appointment for him, which was to be on July 10th.

His pain was so severe we returned to the ER on July 9th. He was immediately transferred to another hospital, which is a 3.5-hour drive one way from our home.

On the morning of surgery, they decided to amputate his leg as a BKA (below knee amputation), after which he came home a couple of days afterwards.

Again his pain got worse and he ended back up in the hospital. They opened up his amputation and discovered there was a severe lack of blood supply which was making his flesh and muscle die internally. Thus, a further amputation was required.

I work in the medical field, nothing much, just basically a caregiver. The only way I could take leave was to take personal leave. What holiday/vacation pay I have has now been gone for the last month.

We need help with paying our bills that are piling up daily. I am usually the last one to ask about money in any shape or form.
