Support Ken Michaud's Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Joyce Broadwater, along with my siblings, Mary, Danny, Marge, Sue and Lee Ann, are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our brother Ken Michaud.

As you may know, Ken has silently and courageously been fighting a battle with Large B Cell and Follicular Lymphoma Cancer with remarkable strength for 14 years. He is at a point where there are few options left. A procedure called Car-T Cell Therapy is the next treatment that has been recommended by his oncologists. This is a process that can take approximately 2-3 months of treatment, follow-up and monitoring. It is a very complex and aggressive treatment which will require a lot of medical care. It starts with a specialist collecting and making changes to Ken’s T Cells in the laboratory. After a few weeks, a drip containing these altered cells will be infused back into his bloodstream. The T-Cells will then recognize and attack the cancer cells. The risk of multiple side effects can be life threatening. He will have to stay in the hospital for at least two weeks and be close to Dana Farber for a month or more depending on how his body accepts this therapy. Please keep Ken and his wife Jeannine in your hearts, thoughts and prayers as they go through this challenging time in their lives. Ken has a long and difficult road ahead of him.
