Support Ken Sagoes' Unique Horror Film Socrates

Donation protected
I’m Ken Sagoes, (actor, award-winning writer and director). Many of you will know me as Kincaid; one of the Dream Warriors and the first African American to fight Freddy in A Nightmare on Elm Street, 3 & 4. I founder of the non-profit organization GBC-Giving Back Corporation in 1997, which has supported more than 1000 college-bound students. Each year, I give 10 scholarships and send inner-city youth to summer camp.

Now, I ask for your support to make a very unique short film. It is an original, fresh horror adventure call, "SOCRATES." The film has the flare of Edgar Allen Pope, Afred Hitchcock, Wes Craven, and William Marshall, who starred in the 80s horror classic, Blacula. Socrates is based on my comic book of the same title. I will also use this project for a training ground for future film makers (Both, in front and behind the camera.) Some of the young people are GBC scholarship recipients. BECAUSE THIS PROJECT REQUIRES CGI AND FX, I NEED EXTA FUNDS TO MAKE IT LOOK THE BEST IT CAN BE.

Briefly, it’s a story of a group of college students who discover that an urban legend is not a myth and releases a deadly spirit housed in an intelligent bird (an African grey parrot) with mystical links tracing back to the beginning of the slave trade. The reborn parrot, Socrates, has witnessed the brutalities of time and those who took advantage of the weak. Socrates’ mission is to seek revenge on the descendants of their ruthless and heartless ancestors.

I am appreciative of any contribution or donation; nothing is too small. I thank you in advance for your support, including your prayers.

"I had the good fortune to read Socrates, and it is written with the expertise that we Sagoes fans have come to expect of him. The veteran writer touches (“toys with”, perhaps?) all the right nerves, deftly blending bone-chilling horror with just the right amount of humor (to cleverly lull us into a false sense of security, of course)." - Steve Ludwig, USA

"Nightmare On Elm Street veteran Ken Sagoes takes the reins and creates his own horror film monster in a comic book. A ghost story reminiscent of a great Tales From The Crypt rooted in African folklore. SOCRATES is a solid callback to an underrated subgenre in horror: a revenge story where the monster delivers the just desserts." - C. Thompson (Glasgow, United Kingdom)

"Ken Sagoes, known for his charismatic performance in the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” series, presents us with a story that intelligently mixes mystery, action and horror. With a guiding thread based on mysticism and the sacred (which must be respected above all), it highlights the threat of Socrates, a being who seems inoffensive and manageable, and harbors in him a great power that he exercises with irony and an aggressive and ruthless attitude. To face it, the protagonists will help each other and will have to expand their minds and be guided by wise figures. In short, the story is trapping you, making you feel a delicious tension from which you cannot escape. - M. Izquierdo (Valencia, Spain)
