Support Kendra and Levi's IVF Journey
Donation protected
To the friends and family of Kendra and Levi,
My name is Brooke, and I’ve been close friends with Kendra since we were in grade school. From growing up together to now getting to raise our boys together in our hometown, we’ve been blessed to have each other through the decades. Kendra is one of the strongest, most selfless women I know, and has walked by faith through every obstacle thrown her way over the past 10 years. From ongoing infertility issues to miscarriages to a cancer diagnosis in 2021, her light for Christ has never dimmed, and she’s shared her story with dignity, helping others with similar struggles. She’s truly an inspiration and that’s why I want to help her and her husband, Levi, grow their family.
Wanting kids has been something Levi and Kendra have always dreamed of. Their journey to start a family began just six months after getting married in 2014. However, after almost three years of trying to get pregnant, they sought help from Kendra’s OBGYN. After months of testing, they were referred to a fertility clinic and started IUI (intrauterine insemination) fertility treatments in 2017.
After three rounds of IUI, Kendra got pregnant. Unfortunately, that pregnancy resulted in their first devastating miscarriage in January of 2018. They went through four more rounds of IUI that brought them a miracle baby boy, Jameson Lee Garrett, in March of 2019!
In the middle of 2020, they moved to Kendra’s hometown, Watonga, OK, and decided to start up fertility treatments for a second child. After one round of IUI they miraculously were pregnant. However, a few weeks later, they found out they were experiencing another heartbreaking miscarriage.
In 2021, they decided to start fertility treatments again. After two more unsuccessful rounds of IUI, Kendra was told to halt all fertility treatments due to a lump she felt on her neck. After a lot of blood work, scans, and biopsies, doctors confirmed Kendra had metastatic papillary thyroid cancer.
Kendra’s cancer was a long, drawn out process that lasted almost three years, ending in late March of 2024. During this time, she had four surgeries and one radioactive iodine treatment where she had to isolate herself from everyone, including her three year old son. Throughout this, they did a whole lot of waiting and praying.
With Kendra’s health history now including cancer, all doctors are recommending IVF (in vitro fertilization) rather than IUI, for better chances for another child. It’s an incredible, yet difficult, journey, not to mention expensive. IVF treatment is not covered by insurance and at minimum will cost approximately $25,000, on top of astronomical medical bills they’ve had over the last seven years with fertility and cancer expenses.
By having this fundraiser, it gives friends and family the opportunity to help Kendra and Levi on their hopeful journey to bring baby number two into this world. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be used for IVF expenses and travel costs. This will help them focus on their physical and emotional health and not have to worry about the financial stress this would cause their family. Jameson, at just five years old, has been praying for a sibling for quite awhile. They’re all praying they’re able to start fertility treatments after a consultation they have on June 18th!
If you are able and have a desire to help them on this journey, no matter how big or small of a donation, they would gladly accept, and greatly appreciate your support. If you’d like to share this fundraiser to your friends, family, church, social media, anywhere, please feel free to do so.
Most importantly, please pray for Levi, Kendra, and Jameson during this next season they’re approaching. We thank you for your support as they prayerfully bring another child into their family!
