Supporting a Brave Mother and Her Child

My name is Kayla, and I am Kennedy's best friend. I've had the privilege of standing by her side throughout her journey, from the moment she found out she was pregnant with her beautiful son, Xavier. As she navigates this challenging chapter in her life, Kennedy is facing a court case that is crucial for her and her child's future.

For too long, my best friend has endured the pain of an abusive relationship that has not only affected her but also her sweet baby, Xavier. I’ve witnessed firsthand the emotional and physical toll that her son’s father has and continues to inflict upon her, leaving scars that are not easily healed. After a series of unsettling incidents, including physical violence and constant threats, she bravely decided to leave him, seeking a safe haven for herself and Xavier.

Despite her courage, the nightmare continued. Even after moving to a new home, he managed to track her down, often sitting outside her house at night, entering her home when he’s not welcome, instilling fear and anxiety in both her and her child. Our efforts to seek help through police reports have unfortunately not deterred his relentless harassment and stalking. He has made alarming threats about taking Xavier out of the country, which only adds to our fears for their safety as his son’s father is not a legal citizen.

We are in the midst of a legal battle, fighting for sole custody but will settle with continued supervised visits, as we believe that no child should be put in harm's way. This journey has been overwhelming, both emotionally and financially, and we are reaching out for help. Your support will make a significant difference in ensuring that my friend and her baby can live without fear, and that they can start to rebuild their lives.

The entirety of the funds raised would be used to cover court costs and the retainer fee for a lawyer who will help ensure that Xavier remains safe and secure with his loving mother, Kennedy.
