Help Support Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Kenya

Can you spare $16.50 to help feed over 100 kids breakfast and lunch for a day?

Hi my name is Meggy and I have spent the last few weeks living and volunteering with Milman Iattract Academy, a Primary School located on Rusinga Island, Kenya.

Living with the school director’s family and hosted by the wonderful Mama Jane has allowed me to see first-hand the living conditions of teachers and students, and what a vital role the school plays in the community.

I am hoping you can join me to raise money to help the school keep operating!

Milman Iattract Academy is an integrated community project supporting orphans and vulnerable children by providing food, educational needs and psychological support. The school currently provides this support to over 100 students and for many of them, it is the only meal they will have for the day.

The late Michael Odula started this school with the intention to support orphans and vulnerable children as he himself was an orphan losing both his parents by 5 years old.

The children who attend Milman are either orphans or living in extreme poverty. Many of these children have lost their parents from HIV/AIDS and some children were born with the virus themselves.

Even with the hardship these children face, they come to school each day with a big smile and eager to learn, being inspired by their dedicated teachers.

As a primary school teacher in Australia myself, I feel deeply connected to this project. I have seen the hard work, long hours, kindness and dedication the teachers are providing to these children in need.
