THIS FUNDRAISER ALLOWS US TO COMPLETE THIS IMPORTANT FILM ABOUT SOCIAL JUSTICE AND THE REALIZATION OF A MULTI-RACIAL DEMOCRACY.

I am Kevin Peterson, producer and narrator of ...

Reparations UNTOLD: An American Story of Democracy.
This groundbreaking documentary film seeks to give contemporary insight into the American reparation's movement in the post George Floyd era.
The 90 min documentary saga focuses upon the contemporary reparation's movement in Boston and also it reflects the broader push for social justice being waged by black people in the wake of slavery and anti-black oppression in the United States. The film uniquely raises questions about reparations in context of American democracy.

This documentary follows a specific social justice movement in post-George Floyd America. It is a film about reparations. But more importantly, it is a story about how we achieve our long-pursued American democracy. It is a Black reparations narrative set in Boston, but it takes in view the entire nation—its racial histories, its civic achievements, and challenges. You have never witnessed a film of this sort that affirms our collective humanity and points us toward a new democracy.

Why we need your help?
Your support comes at a critical point in this project. We need to complete editing during the post-production. We must organize and implement a marketing strategy, which includes a free public screening. We want to enter this film into local, national and global film festivals. All of this is expensive. But the message of the film is worth it.

Who Benefits from this project?
We all stand to gain with the completion of this project. We remain a country divided over race and polarized politically. This film speaks to the issue of justice and American democracy. We intend to distribute this film widely. We also want to make it available as an educational tool in our nation's high schools and colleges. The film will also enhance conversations about race and democracy among civic and grassroots organizations.

Who is Kevin Peterson

Kevin Peterson leads a protest in Boston as he advocates for more deeply understanding the impaction of slavery and understanding move toward a multi-cultural democracy.

Why Reparations Is Project A American Democracy
American democracy is dependent upon equalities among citizens. For centuries equality was denied those who experienced and survived the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Inequality persist today among American Blacks as part of the legacy of slave. Reparations allows us to address social, economic and civic inequality and advance toward our democratic ideals.

The Goals of This Project

Our fundraising goal is $50,000. The resources are needed for a variety of tasks, including post-production editing, marketing, introducing the film to the public, and entrance fee for local, national and international film festivals.

The Core Beliefs
We believe that the issue of race and democracy remains unresolved in the United States. We believe that this film on reparations provides an impetus toward gaining a better understanding American history and democracy. We believe that reparations address long-lasting social tensions along the lines of race through education.
