"We mourn the sudden passing of Walker, who was in his freshman year at St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania.

“Kevon was a larger-than-life presence in so many ways in our building,” said Principal Tom Coppola ’01. “His graduation from Canisius High School was such a great day for he and his family, it was awesome on that day to see him so proud. Our deepest condolences go out to his family.”

Walker, of Buffalo, was a football standout at CHS whose large physical presence was often matched by a huge smile. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive lineman was a 2023 first-team All-Catholic selection who earned a scholarship to Division I St. Francis and saw action as a freshman this season.

At this year's CHS football victory at St. Joe's on Sept. 28, Walker joined the team for the big game and assisted in the locker room and on the sidelines."
