Support Khan's Family Reunification Journey

“My name is Andrew French. I’m a US Army Officer and combat veteran. In 2013 I deployed to Maiwand Province, Afghanistan with a small team of soldiers in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I served along side Afghan National Army soldiers as well as Afghan civilians that volunteered as interpreters with the hopes and dreams of obtaining special issues visas and becoming American citizens. These interpreters endured the same trials of war as they served side by side with us. Many put their lives at risk serving in this capacity only to be abandoned and left behind during the US withdrawal from Afghanistan Including my former interpreter, “Khan”.

In August of 2021 I was fortunate enough to be connected with the masterminds of OPN Pineapple Express and evacuate “Khan” to the United States thru an established underground railroad. This mission succeeded where others failed but unfortunately in the midst of the chaos around HKIA in the days of it’s collapse, Khan’s wife and 5x children were not able to be evacuated. Khan is now an established permanent resident in the great state of Texas.

Unfortunately, our story does not end here. Khan’s father became gravely ill and he was still burdened with the task of getting his family to the United States. Khan recently returned to Afghanistan to see his father before his passing and to try and evacuate his family. Since there is no longer a US consulate in the country of Afghanistan, this has become a very complex and expensive task with little to no assistance from some of our nations agencies.

I am here today asking for your help by way of donations in order to finance sustainment, travel costs, and living expenses for Khan and his family for when they do finally reunite here in the United States. Supporting a family of 6 is no easy task, especially when you have to leave everything you know behind in order to just survive. Additionally, I’m asking for support in expediting the reunification of Khan and his family. This is something that should have happened years ago with our very much anticipated withdrawal, but the fact is it didn’t. Fortunately, we have the power to make right what others got wrong.

I’ve refrained from posting many details due to the sensitivity of this situation. The Taliban are still actively pursuing and killing Afghans like Khan and his family and maintaining their privacy is imperative for their safety.
