Support Kherson & Nova Kakhovka region

Donation protected
My name is Kate and I'm a founder of Union of Help to Kherson. A local ngo focused on grass-root efforts to help the occupied and de-occupied parts of Kherson region and people in need of humanitarian aid. This is a continuation of our original fundraiser where we raised over $50 000 - https://gofund.me/0cbcc5c4. Now we're focusing on helping people evacuate from the flood, receive critical life supplies and restore housing by pumping out water where we can. We work on both the liberated and occupied side of Kherson region through trusted volunteer networks. More on my story and our organization below...

I'm originally from Nova Kakhovka - the city which holds the water supply for all of southern Ukraine and where Russia blew up a hydroelectric station causing humanitarian and natural catastrophes. On 6th of June I woke up to what felt, and still feels like, apocalypsis..

So what is happening on the ground?
The water keeps gradually rising across the cities and villages of the Kherson region. Some villages have more than two meters of water. Evacuation of civilians is underway - more than 80 villages and towns are projected to experience complete flooding. As the water is rising, people grab their families and evacuate inland - with nothing but what they can carry, and no destination in sight. President Zelenskyy convened an emergency meeting and units of State Emergency Service are evacuating as many people living in potential flooding zones - on the liberated side. On the occupied side no evacuation missions have been launched by occupying forces. People are sitting on roofs of their houses and writing messages begging for help. We are working with a local group of undercover pro-Ukrainian volunteers that are trying to get people out by boats and provide them with food and f no mass evacuations have been
It will take another 5 hours for water to reach a critical level and engulf even more residences, businesses, schools, and everyday places that have already experienced such hardship during the russian occupation.
